The longest walk- By Deva

The Rapsey family decided to go on the longest walk this route was Te Araroa.

Their plan is to walk before breakfast, to the top of Poukirikiri/ Travers saddle. High above the Nelson lakes. They started at Cape Reinga and finished at Bluff, right at the bottom of Te Waipounamu. The Rapseys  will cross two mountain passes in Nelson lakes National Park.

They  walked 27 kilometres along Te Oneroa-a-Tohe. The family  walked through lots of tiny towns and rolling hills. They reached Tamakimakaurau, with its tall buildings and suburban  streets. The Rapseys  came across the farmland of Waikato and the ancient trees of Pureora, The family passed mount Ngauruhoe and Mount Tongaririo .

Everyone  stayed in tramping huts or houses.  .

Overall This story was really interesting and sounded like the family was very tired.  This story told me about lots of places and how strong a family bond is!
